The Deputy for Research and Technology of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education has recently released the official results of the 1404 (2025–2026) performance evaluation of research centers across the country with more than 10 years of research experience. Based on rigorous scientific indicators and international ranking frameworks, the Noncommunicable Diseases Research Center of Fasa University of Medical Sciences ranked seventh nationally among eligible research centers.

This achievement is the result of the dedicated efforts and collaboration of the faculty members, researchers, and staff of the Research Center, as well as the continued support of the university's administrators. It represents an important step toward strengthening the university's scientific standing and contributing to the improvement of community health.

Dr. Elham Zare-Nejad, Head of the Noncommunicable Diseases Research Center, congratulated the center's faculty and staff on this achievement and stated that achieving seventh place, particularly among research centers with more than 10 years of activity, represents a significant accomplishment. Approximately 117 centers were eligible for evaluation in this category, many of which have a long history of research activity, larger academic teams, and substantial research infrastructure and resources.

Some of these centers are based at major comprehensive universities in the country and have had decades to develop their research infrastructure, scientific networks, and human resources. In contrast, the Noncommunicable Diseases Research Center at Fasa University of Medical Sciences operates with only two permanent faculty members.

Accordingly, an important aspect of this achievement is the scientific performance achieved relative to the center's available capacity. Despite its limited number of permanent faculty members, the center has maintained a substantial level of scientific output and achieved a strong performance in the area of knowledge production.

This demonstrates that the center's performance was not simply the result of a high volume of activities; rather, research productivity and the effective use of available resources also played an important role.

Dr. Mojtaba Farjam, Deputy for Research and Technology, further noted that the center has been ranked among the top seven research centers in the country despite competing with institutions that have two to three decades of research experience, are based at major comprehensive universities, and benefit from larger numbers of faculty members, more extensive research infrastructure, and, in some cases, dedicated budget allocations.

In contrast, the Fasa center has achieved this national ranking with only two permanent faculty members and limited financial resources provided by the university.
