International Medical Student Admission 2020 Academic Year

Fasa University of Medical Sciences was established in 1977 as a medical college affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.

Since 1994, it has been operating as an independent university called (Fasa University of Medical Sciences) under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

Due to several requests from foreign national students for the admissions in medical courses and also the university interests, this university decided to provide several seats in Medicine (General Physician) to foreign national students from 2020 academic year (August-June).

Details of admission will be available by January 2020.  

Fasa University of Medical Sciences and the University of Poitiers are collaborating on research and educational fields

Fasa University of Medical Sciences and the University of Poitiers attended an official meeting on May 11, 2019. The meeting aim was to explore ways for developing medical, scientific, educational and research collaborations.

In this meeting, Dr. Ali Asghar Khalaghi head of Fasa University of Medical Sciences mentioned “Fasa University of Medical Sciences has important role in research fields in recent years, will have a lot of educational and research cooperation with foreign universities, including the University of Poitiers, and expressed his hope for continuing bilateral meetings and partnerships.

  The head of the University of Poitiers, Professor Yves Jean expressed the willingness to work together with Fasa University of Medical Sciences in various fields and exchanges of professors and students as well as researchers between two University and joint projects are considered as important cooperation strategies.

In the following, Dr. Mojtaba Fargam, Vice-Chancellor for Research & Technology of Fasa University of Medical Sciences, pointed out the history of his university and the facilities provided, including the cohort data bank for youth and adults, hospital registry of cardiovascular diseases, as well as laboratory equipment and facilities in new science fields, such as biotechnology and tissue engineering, and nanotechnology.

 Head of Psychiatric Research Center of Poitiers University, Professor Jafari, expressed the willingness to cooperate with two centers for valuable scientific production and considered the role of data in the cohort database of Fasa University of Medical Sciences to be very valuable.

Second national congress of non-communicable disease and ninth congress of southern colleague network

Second national congress of non-communicable disease and ninth congress of southern colleague network was held in on January 31 and February 1, 2019.

Vice Chancellor for Technology and Research of Fasa University of Medical Sciences-Dr Mojtaba Farjam- mentioned: Cancer, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases, lung and allergic diseases, chronic kidney diseases, neurology and psychiatry, fertility and sterility, metabolic diseases and diabetes as most important topics of the Second national congress of non-communicable disease.

He also stated that the following items was major topics of ninth congress of southern colleague network.

Traditional and complementary medicine, paramedical sciences, medication evaluation, modern medicine, environmental health, Quran and medicine, innovation, communicable disease, nutrition and social factors affecting health.

Fasa University of Medical Sciences International Affairs hosted Dr. Mohsen Khosravi, postdoctoral research scientist of Columbia University

Fasa University of Medical Sciences International Affairs hosted Dr. Mohsen Khosravi, postdoctoral research scientist of Columbia University (New York) on April 15th, 2019.

Grand Round Speech was held for teachers, assistants, staff and medical students focusing on Immune Tolerance and Xenotransplantation in the amphitheater hall of the Valiasr Hospital.

Subsequently, separate meeting was held with the head of the university, the departments of education and research. After that faculty members of university and Dr. Khosravi started a questioning and answering session and some topics about transplantation research and abroad education were discussed.

Presence of Dr. Kashef the Fellowship of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from of Wayne state University of Michigan in Fasa University of Medical Sciences

Fasa University of Medical Sciences International Affairs, hosted Dr. Minuchehr Kashef, the Fellowship of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from of Wayne state University, (Michigan) on April 28th,2019.

The special meeting, was held with the presence Dr. Kashef and gynecologists from the University, and was debated on rare cases and diseases. Subsequently, a number of interested medical students joined the group in the conference hall of Valiasr Hospital and Dr. Kashef presented PowerPoint slides and shared some of his experiences in women's surgery.
